What Obsid Pro does

Obsid Pro is a Windows audio software that lets you hear sound through your headphones and speakers at the same time - something Windows doesn't support natively. It also adds a 10-band parametric EQ, spatial audio, room calibration, and the ability to import any EQ curve from a screenshot.

Obsid Pro works on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). macOS and Android support are coming in future updates.

Getting Started

Get Obsid Pro running in under 5 minutes.

1

Download and extract

Download ObsidPro.zip from your dashboard or welcome email. Extract it anywhere - you'll find ObsidProInstaller.exe, ObsidProInnoSetup.exe, and a README inside.

2

Run the installer

Double click ObsidProInstaller.exe. If Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info then Run anyway - this is normal for new software and completely safe. The installer sets up everything automatically including the Obsid Cable virtual audio driver.

3

Set Obsid Cable as your default device

Right click the speaker icon in your taskbar and open Sound Settings. Find Obsid Pro Virtual Cable in the output list and set it as your default device. This is the only manual step - it tells Windows to send all audio through Obsid Pro.

4

Sign in to Obsid Pro

Open Obsid Pro from your Start menu or desktop. Sign in with the same email you used to subscribe. Your license activates automatically - no key needed.

5

Select your devices

In the Home tab, select your headphones under Main Audio and your speakers under Immersion Audio. Audio will immediately route to both devices simultaneously.

i

Obsid Pro runs in the background and starts automatically with Windows. You can enable or disable auto-start from the Settings tab inside the app.

Main Audio

Main Audio is the primary sound channel - everything you hear in full detail.

Main Audio is designed for your headphones or earbuds. It carries the full audio signal - every instrument, voice, sound effect, and spatial detail exactly as it was recorded. This is where you hear everything clearly.

Headphones excel at this because they sit millimeters from your ears and deliver precision that open-air speakers can't match at any price point - instrument separation, high frequency clarity, and spatial imaging are all better through headphones.

Best devices for Main Audio

Wired headphones, wireless headphones, earbuds, IEMs, USB DACs - any device where audio detail and clarity matters.

i

You can toggle Main Audio on and off from the Home tab. When toggled off, audio only plays through your Immersion Audio device.

Immersion Audio

Immersion Audio adds the physical dimension - the bass you feel, not just hear.

Immersion Audio routes audio to your speakers or subwoofer to complement what you hear through your headphones. Speakers move air. When bass frequencies play through a speaker, you feel them in your chest and through the floor - a physical sensation headphones simply cannot reproduce no matter how good they are.

Together, Main Audio and Immersion Audio create what professional cinema sound systems have always used - precision drivers for detail combined with physical bass drivers for presence. Obsid Pro brings this to your desk.

Best devices for Immersion

Desktop speakers, bookshelf speakers, subwoofers, soundbars - any device that can move air and produce physical bass.

Pro tip

Keep Immersion Audio volume slightly lower than Main Audio so bass complements rather than overwhelms your sound.

i

Immersion Audio works with any device Windows recognizes - Bluetooth speakers, wired speakers, USB audio interfaces, all supported.

Equalizer

A 10-band parametric EQ that applies to all your audio in real time.

10-band parametric EQ

The Obsid Pro equalizer gives you precise control over ten frequency bands spanning the full audible spectrum. Each band has independent gain and Q factor controls - Q determines how wide or narrow each adjustment is, letting you make surgical corrections or broad sweeping changes.

EQ import from image

Obsid Pro is the first Windows audio application to import equalizer settings directly from a screenshot. Take a screenshot of any EQ curve from any software - a headphone review, a tuning from another app, a recommendation from a forum - and Obsid Pro reads the visual curve and recreates it as a parametric EQ profile instantly.

This works with any number of bands from any software. EQ settings have never been portable between apps - Obsid Pro solves this by reading the visual representation every equalizer produces.

i

EQ changes apply in real time with no interruption to playback. Switch presets while music is playing to hear the difference instantly.

Spatial Audio

HRIR-based 3D audio that makes sound feel like it exists around you, not inside your head.

Spatial audio uses Head Related Impulse Response processing to simulate how sound reaches your ears from different directions. Your ears and the shape of your head naturally filter sound differently depending on where it comes from - HRIR processing creates the sense of direction and space through headphones.

Custom HRIR (Pro+ only)

Pro+ subscribers can upload a custom HRIR file measured for their own head geometry - either a stereo WAV file or a SOFA file. Drag it into the Spatial tab. A personalized HRIR produces much more accurate spatial audio than any generic profile because it's calibrated to how you specifically perceive directional sound.

Obsid Pro ships with a built-in HRIR profile that works well for most listeners. Enable spatial audio from the Spatial tab with a single toggle.

i

Spatial audio is most noticeable on music with strong stereo imaging, film audio mixes, and games with positional audio.

Scenes

Save your perfect setup and switch between profiles instantly.

Scenes let you save your current configuration - device selection, EQ settings, and spatial audio preferences - as a named profile. Create different scenes for different use cases and switch between them instantly without reconfiguring anything.

Music

Cinema

Create a scene from the Scenes tab by clicking the save button. Give it a name, and it appears in your scene list. Switch scenes by tapping the name - everything updates instantly.

Room Calibration (Beta)

Maps your room's acoustics and tunes your Immersion Audio to match your space.

Every room sounds different. Hard floors, room dimensions, speaker placement, and soft furnishings all affect how bass travels and reflects. Room Calibration measures your specific environment and adjusts your Immersion Audio output to compensate, so you hear accurate bass regardless of your room's acoustic properties.

1

Place your microphone

Use your laptop or PC microphone, or an external mic positioned at your listening position.

2

Obsid Pro plays a calibration tone

A bass sweep tone plays through your Immersion Audio device. Keep the room quiet during measurement.

3

Mic captures the room response

Obsid Pro requires microphone permission to capture the tone as it reflects through your room.

4

Settings apply automatically

Obsid Pro calculates your room response and adjusts Immersion Audio EQ to compensate. Results may vary based on mic quality.

i

Room Calibration is in beta and actively improving. Additional instructions and guidance are shown inside the app during the calibration process.

Obsid Cable

The virtual audio device that makes everything in Obsid Pro possible.

Obsid Cable is a professional virtual audio device that installs automatically as part of Obsid Pro setup. It appears in Windows as a standard audio output device called Obsid Pro Virtual Cable. When you set it as your default output in Windows Sound Settings, all system audio flows through it before reaching any physical device.

Obsid Pro intercepts this audio stream and routes it simultaneously to every output device you've selected - your headphones, your speakers, or any combination. This is what enables Obsid Pro's core functionality without requiring any manual driver configuration or system changes.

If Obsid Pro Virtual Cable is missing from your device list

This is rare since the installer handles everything automatically. If it happens, open Sound Settings, find VB-Cable in the output list, right click it, select Rename, and rename it to Obsid Pro Audio. If VB-Cable is not there at all, download it free from vb-audio.com, install it, then rename it to Obsid Pro Audio.
